Two of our boxing students are celebrating picking up medals at the GB Three Nations Tournament in Scotland following a raft of successes during their time with us.

Dionne Mannion and George Peacock have completed England Boxing’s Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme alongside their study programme. Dionne won a Gold Medal and became GB Three Nations Youth Champion U52kg and, in what was his first international tournament, George came away with the Youth Bronze Medal U64kg.

Both students are coming to the end of their time studying at the college having completed Level 2 Health and Fitness and Level 3 Personal training qualifications in addition to DiSE, which is a Level 3 diploma.

Last year Dionne became the U54kg Youth Cadet National Champion and was selected for the England Boxing Performance Pathway. This year the 18-year-old went on to represent England on three occasions, winning all three of her international contests.

This year George, 18, became the U64kg Youth Elite National Champion and was selected for the England Boxing Performance Pathway.

Our DiSE Boxing coach Gavin Rickelton has also progressed onto the international boxing scene having been appointed to the position of England Boxing Performance Pathway Coach and is now working with Team England in national and international coaching duties.
