This course is designed to help you progress into future courses and possible careers in either Health and Social care or within Early Years and Childcare.
You'll explore different aspects of working in a caring role, including an awareness of the various roles and provisions within the sector, effective communication and teamwork, healthy lifestyles and also how to safeguard vulnerable people and protecting yourself.
You'll gain real world experience of both healthcare and early years settings through community events and simulated activities. This could be activities arranged through charities or within in our early years learning suite.
Your teachers will be experienced and enthusiastic practitioners in the field and maintain their knowledge and skills by returning to practice at least once a year.
You will learn about a range of topics including health and well-being, legislation, frameworks and professional practice, play and learning for school readiness and professional development.
We have excellent links with high quality placement providers and employers and you would develop all of the practical skills and knowledge employers are looking for and that will make you among the most highly prized in the jobs market.
You will work in a range of placement settings, essential for achievement of this qualification including nurseries, day nurseries and primary schools and with different age ranges of children.
We will enable you to develop the right work ethic, attitude and softer skills that can make a real difference to any organisation you join.

On successful completion of this course you may be considered for progression on to a Level 2 course within your chosen pathway of either health and social care or early years and childcare.
This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
