You will be involved in daily reporting of work completed, ensuring accurate documentation of tasks and achievements
Checking and calibrating machines to ensure accuracy with the support of the maintenance team
Learning how to fit new or replacement parts, recommending replacement items before failure.
Supporting the maintenance team by carrying out inspections for preventative maintenance and responding immediately to equipment breakdowns.
Ensuring, along with the maintenance team that operational targets of machine availability is achieved to aid operational target achievement.
Liaising with all relevant departments to ensure interruption to services is reduced to a minimum.
Additionally, you will contribute to spare parts stock control, monitoring inventory levels, and reporting any requirements to ensure seamless operations
Maintaining cleanliness in the workshop, equipment, and tools will be essential to uphold safety standards and optimise efficiency
Your role will provide valuable hands-on experience in the maintenance field, allowing you to develop practical skills and contribute to the smooth functioning of the maintenance department

You will work towards the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard qualification with Gateshead College.
