What you will do in your working day
- You will be involved in daily reporting of work completed, ensuring accurate documentation of tasks and achievements
- Checking and calibrating machines to ensure accuracy with the support of the maintenance team
- Learning how to fit new or replacement parts, recommending replacement items before failure.
- Supporting the maintenance team by carrying out inspections for preventative maintenance and responding immediately to equipment breakdowns.
- Ensuring, along with the maintenance team that operational targets of machine availability is achieved to aid operational target achievement.
- Liaising with all relevant departments to ensure interruption to services is reduced to a minimum.
- Additionally, you will contribute to spare parts stock control, monitoring inventory levels, and reporting any requirements to ensure seamless operations
- Maintaining cleanliness in the workshop, equipment, and tools will be essential to uphold safety standards and optimise efficiency
- Your role will provide valuable hands-on experience in the maintenance field, allowing you to develop practical skills and contribute to the smooth functioning of the maintenance department
The training you will be getting
- You will work towards the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard qualification with Gateshead College.
- Training delivery method to be confirmed.
Required Qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade A*-C/4-9) Essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade A*-C/4-9) Essential
