Our PlanBEE Class of 2026 has been celebrating after successfully completing the programme at a special Graduation Event.
The event brought together 33 apprentices from PlanBEE’s three regions, the North East, Manchester and London, to mark their achievements alongside family and friends, employer sponsors and college staff.
The Graduation Event recognised the hard work and commitment shown by the apprentices throughout their two-year PlanBEE journey, which combines academic study with working at some of the country’s leading organisations across the built environment sector.
The first apprenticeship of its kind, PlanBEE gives apprentices the opportunity to undertake six four-month placements with employer sponsors, providing invaluable experience across a range of roles and disciplines including architecture, structural and building services engineering, project management, cost management and leadership.
The occasion was particularly special as it coincided with the 10th anniversary of PlanBEE, marking a decade of supporting young people into careers across the built environment sector.
Over the past 10 years, the programme has achieved remarkable success, delivering more than 1,000 industry placements and boasting a 97% progression rate, with apprentices moving into permanent roles or further study on completion of the programme.
Anjana Raj, Company Social Value Manager at Sir Robert McAlpine and Chair of the PlanBEE Board said “It was fantastic to come together and celebrate the achievements of our Class of 2026. Over the past two years, they have grown in confidence, developed new skills and embraced the opportunities PlanBEE has offered them. They should all be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
“As we celebrate 10 years of PlanBEE, it’s inspiring to see the impact the programme continues to have in helping young people build successful careers in the built environment sector. We are grateful to our employer sponsors for their ongoing support and look forward to seeing what our graduates go on to achieve next.”
