Drum rolllllll… we’re over the moon to announce that our charity partner for 2025 is Red Sky Foundation.
The charity supports babies, children, and adults with heart conditions by providing equipment, defibrillators and training, making a significant impact across the North East.
It was founded by a Sunderland dad, Sergio Petrucci, who pledged to show his thanks to the medical professionals who operated on his daughter Luna in 2015.
Sergio said: “We’re honoured that Gateshead College have chosen Red Sky Foundation as their charity partner! We’re super excited at the opportunities this will bring the students and hope this partnership will be one that we can build on. We’re ready to start saving heartbeats together!”
Staff were asked to make suggestions for the college’s new charity partner, with Red Sky Foundation being the clear winner.
Principal David Alexander said: “Red Sky Foundation is an amazing cause which works tirelessly to support heart patients and their families and has provided hundreds of defibrillators in the community.
“We’re looking forward to working with Red Sky to support them in any way we can. There will be plenty of opportunities for our students and staff to get involved, volunteer, take part in sporting events and fundraise and I have no doubt that together we can achieve even more for our communities.”
