Ten of our students have received £500 bursaries from the Sunday for Sammy Trust, helping them take the next step towards careers in the creative industries. The £5,000 fund has been awarded to students on the college’s Level 4 Creative Entrepreneur programme, supporting ambitions in music, media, filmmaking, technical production and creative enterprise.
The bursaries recognise both the students’ potential and the strong partnership between Gateshead College and the Sunday for Sammy Trust, which has provided learners with valuable industry experience through live events and creative projects.
Janek Podhajecki, Curriculum Leader at Gateshead College, said “Working with Sunday for Sammy has been fantastic. It’s given our students the opportunity to contribute to a major regional project and gain genuine industry experience.”
The funding will help students invest in equipment, travel and networking opportunities as they continue to build their careers in the creative sector.
The awards reflect our shared commitment with the Sunday for Sammy Trust to support and develop the next generation of North East creative talent.
