Gateshead College Celebrates Outstanding Level 3 Results

Students across the college are celebrating after achieving an exceptional set of results on level 3 results day.

Our A Level students shone with a 98.5% pass rate, and 76.9% of them achieving A*-C grades which has increased by 6% from last year.

A Level student Bex achieved a very strong set of results with two A’s and an A in English literature, Art and Psychology.

They are now heading to Oxford University to study English Literature and Language and was delighted with there results: “I’d like to thank all the teachers at the college for all the support they’ve given me on my journey. I’m really excited for my next chapter in Oxford to start my degree.”

Students who have been studying T Levels in Early Years, Health Care, Digi Tech, Engineering and Construction also excelled with a 100% pass rate, 82.7% earning a merit or distinction grade.

Ella achieved a Merit in her T Level in Early Years and is now going on to work in a nursery, three employers had offered her a role based on her work experience placement.

She said: “I’m super happy with my results, the staff have been so supportive throughout, I couldn’t have done it without them. The course has been great as I got to put what I learnt in the classroom into my placement practice which has helped me gain employment.”

Our students who have been studying Level 3 technical and vocational qualifications, such as BTECs, achieved a 98.1% pass rate with BTEC high grades at an impressive 59.5%, a 10.4% increase on last year and UAL distinctions were at 35.7%.

Luka achieved a Distinction in Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology (TV &Film) securing his place at Sunderland University to study Film Production.

Luka said: “I’m really happy with my results and have loved my time at college. I’ve been here for the last four years as I started on Project Choice to help me settle into college life with my autism and ADHD. I’m so proud of what I have been able to achieve at Gateshead College, the staff have been so helpful and have allowed me to be myself.”
