Get ready for your career in screen with ITV.

Ready to break into the world of TV, film and media? The ScreenLab x ITV programme is your backstage pass to the screen industry. No boring lectures, just real skills, real projects and real connections.

ScreenLab is designed to support aspiring freelancers and emerging creative professionals as they take their first steps into the screen and media industries. The programme combines practical training, industry insight and professional development, helping you build the skills, confidence and connections needed to launch a successful career.

In partnership with ITV Signpost, this 12-week course is designed for adult learners (19+) who are looking to transition from stage to screen, or to develop professional showreel material. You’ll build essential on-camera acting skills, exploring the differences between stage and screen performance, alongside techniques, scene analysis and technical knowledge of cameras and sound.

You’ll gain practical experience in self-taping, rehearsing and performing for camera. Along the way, you’ll benefit from industry insights and guidance on the next steps in your acting career.

On completion, you’ll achieve an NCFE Level 1 qualification and gain access to exclusive opportunities through ITV Academy.

Assessment
Project/portfolio based.
Taught by teachers with industry level experience and industry guests and masterclasses.
2 weeks of the programme will be at ITV Signpost.
Black magic cameras, unreal engine, writer duet, Padlet, LED screens, Premiere Pro and Computer/IT software.

Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.

If you don’t qualify for funding help and have to pay for course, you could pay a 25% deposit and four consecutive monthly standing order payments for the balance. The course fee must be over £100 to qualify.

If this is a Level 3 qualification and you may qualify for free course fees and there may be grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances. If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 or over you can pay the fee in full upfront and receive a 10% discount. Or you can apply for an Adult Advanced Learner Loan, a low interest loan with no upfront fees that you pay back in installments once you’re earning. Those aged under 18 years old are not eligible to study this course as it is a part time programme.

No formal qualifications needed.

This course is designed for adult learners (19+) who are interested in gaining hands-on experience with industry tools and techniques, including Unreal Engine, green screens, LED volumes, tracking systems and virtual cameras.
  • Tuesday 6th October – 26th January 5:30pm – 8:30pm (12 weeks)
  • Tuesday 9th March – 8th June 5:30pm – 8:30pm for (12 weeks)
