Gateshead

Gateshead Council

  • Provides free advice and practical help for anyone who is homeless or worried about becoming homeless, including support to stay in their current accommodation or help finding somewhere new to live.

Oasis Community Housing

  • Offerdrop in centres, emergency support, outreach teams, and access to essentials like food, showers, and laundry facilities for people who are rough sleeping or in crisis.

South Tyneside

South Tyneside Council

  • Offers support for people who are homeless or rough sleeping, including emergency help and housing advice.
  • Housing Options Team provides assessments, advice, and temporary accommodation where eligible.
  • Out of hours emergency support is available for people with nowhere to stay.

Newcastle

Newcastle City Council – Homelessness & Rough Sleeping

  • Provides emergency help for people with nowhere safe to sleep tonight, plus prevention support for those at risk of homelessness.
  • Housing Advice Centre offers free, confidential advice and assessments for anyone homeless or at risk.

Crisis Skylight Newcastle

  • Supports people experiencing or at risk of homelessness with housing advice, skills training, wellbeing support, and help finding a home.

Shelter Newcastle

  • Offers legal advice and support for housing problems, including challenging homelessness decisions (Legal Aid eligible cases).

Sunderland

Sunderland City Council – Homeless & Housing Advice

  • Provides tailored advice, support to stay in current accommodation, and help finding alternative housing if needed.
