April 7, 2026

Level 2 Travel student Jack has been recognised by LNER and Network Rail for his incredible achievement in raising £225,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer over the past 10 years.

Jack was given an extraordinary VIP experience by both organisations in recognition of his fundraising efforts and the challenges he has faced following a brain tumour diagnosis. Jack is well known for his lifelong love of the railway and has continued to raise money for charity while undergoing significant medical treatment.

Over the last decade, Jack has raised an astonishing £225,000 for charity while navigating cancer treatment. His commitment has earned admiration from the public, the charity sector and the wider rail community. The VIP day was a meaningful gesture of thanks that celebrated his impact, resilience and positivity.

During his specially arranged visit, Jack was welcomed as a guest of honour aboard LNER and Network Rail services. Staff from across the railway worked together to give him a memorable experience that included behind the scenes access and insights into operations that most passengers never see. The day highlighted both Jack’s passion for trains and the strong sense of community within the rail industry.

Jack’s brain tumour diagnosis has shaped much of his young life, yet he has continued to take part in charity work throughout treatment and has inspired countless people with his determination.

As part of his recognition, Jack was also invited to London for his very own Paddington Bear experience. This heartwarming moment was recently featured on BBC’s The One Show.
