We recently celebrated our Digital Bootcamp students at a graduation event held at Baltic Campus and streamed online, for their successful completion of the Skills Bootcamp in Digital training programmes.
The event recognised the achievements of graduates who completed courses in AI and Machine Learning, Cloud Solutions and Cyber Essentials, Cybersecurity and Networking, Data Analytics, Full Stack Development and UX/UI.
Graduates were joined by industry speakers Jamie Shields from Marra and Richie Ramsden from Northern Powergrid, who shared their insights into working in the tech sector and offered advice on changing career paths.
Richie Ramsden, Product Transition Manager at Northern Powergrid, said “Bootcamps are essential for anyone changing or coming back to a career in tech. Often these people bring a different perspective, and experience, to the industry – this is vital for embedding new tech skills in existing companies and markets. They are an excellent way to begin a new career in tech, but also an excellent way to recruit well rounded talent.”
The graduation was hosted in Digital Up North, a dedicated community space at Baltic Campus designed to help people discover how tech works.
Phil O’Neil, Head of Digital Technologies and Games, said: “All of our graduates should feel incredibly truly proud of what they’ve achieved. Skills Bootcamps are intensive programmes which provide you with job-ready skills and knowledge in a short space of time. I wish all our graduates every success as they move forward in their careers.” Phil also shared his own experience of taking part in a Data Analytics Bootcamp: “It was a really valuable course that gave me the confidence to use data in new ways.”
Skills Bootcamps open to adult learners (aged 19+) and are free for anyone who meets the eligibility criteria and is not taking the course through their employer.
