We’ve partnered with CyberNorth to launch PlanBEE Cyber, a flexible, rotation-based apprenticeship programme designed to tackle the UK’s cyber security skills gap.
Building on the success of the original PlanBEE model, this award-winning programme gives apprentices hands-on experience across multiple employers offering a broader, more practical understanding of the cyber sector.
It’s especially valuable for SMEs, who often struggle to access training due to the specialist nature of cyber roles.
Developed with support from Northumbrian Water Group, CyberNorth and InfoSec Advisory, PlanBEE Cyber is shaped by industry and delivered by Gateshead College to meet real employer needs.
Phil O’Neil, Head of Digital Technologies at Gateshead College, said “PlanBEE Cyber is a practical solution to a real challenge, building the next generation of cyber professionals in a fast-growing sector where access to training is uneven.”
Danielle Phillips, CEO of CyberNorth, added “This flexi-job model opens the door for more businesses, especially SMEs, to take part. It’s a smarter, more collaborative way to grow local cyber talent, and we’re proud the North East is leading the way.”
