We are celebrating after being announced the winners of this year’s Skills Developer award and came second in the People’s Choice award at the Dynamites North East Tech Awards hosted by Dynamo North.
The award was for Digital Up North with judges commenting that we have ‘truly embedded employers at every stage of its journey, bridging skills gaps and preparing young professionals for the future.’
Digital Up North is the first initiative of its kind to act as a serious connector between education and business, closing regional skills gaps across digital, cyber, AI, healthcare, engineering, and games.
Deni Chambers, director of curriculum and skill, said “Its fantastic that Digital Up North has been recognised in this way. So far over 1,200 people and more than 100 employers have benefitted from it and through hands‑on training and standout events, it’s helping to shape the North East’s digital scene and showing just how powerful working together can be.”
It’s the second time that we have received a Dynamites Award. In 2023, we also scooped the Skills Developer Award for our Employment Edge ethos, placing learners, employers and the community at the core of digital skills development.
As part of the awards, we also sponsored the outstanding workplace award, congratulations to Leighton for putting people at the centre of what they do.
Well done to all the winners, we are already looking forward to next year.
