At just 22 years old, Charis Nicholson is full of enthusiasm and gratitude for her time at Gateshead College.
“I’m just happy to be here,” she says with a smile. “I like every single minute of it.”
For Charis, college has been more than education—it’s been a journey of personal growth. “It helped me break down some great barriers,” she explains. “I’ve come so far.”
When asked about her favourite teacher, Charis doesn’t hesitate “My favourite teacher has got to be Adam T. He’s fantastic—so fun, so great. He’s just an amazing teacher and the best so far.”
Charis’s hard work and positive attitude paid off when she secured a job at Morrisons. “I was on a work placement, and Lynn and Kelsey really helped me find a job that suited my personality,” she says. “I’m loving it.”
If she had to sum up Gateshead College in three words? “Inspirational, motivational, exquisite,” Charis says proudly. “It means the world to me. I was speechless when I realized how much I’d achieved—I was flabbergasted!”
And her one wish for the college’s future? “For the staff to keep being great and doing what they do best,” she says. “They’ve been amazing.”
