This T Level in Networking and Infrastructure (Digital Support Services) is a 2 year programme developed in collaboration with employers and businesses. It has been designed to reflect the needs of the digital sector and the role of a Digital Infrastructure Technician.
The programme combines theory, technical concepts and principles and an industry placement that will prepare you for the workplace or higher-level study.
You will study concepts, theories and principles relevant to the skills needed in roles such as a digital application technician, infrastructure technician or IT support roles.
You will study the infrastructure support needs of a range of businesses, data storage and access levels to data, computational thinking skills, digital environments, legislation that is relevant to the role of a digital support technician, security issues and how they can be overcome and testing system vulnerabilities.
As the course is a T Level, you’ll undertake an industry placement of at least 45 day putting into practice what you’ve learnt in the classroom.
Our Digital Technology curriculum is reviewed by a range of employers to ensure that you will develop the skills required to work in the industry. These include Proto, Sunderland Software City, Hedgehog Lab, Enigma Interactive, DevAcademy, Tombola and Geek Talent.
This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
