Look no further than our T Level in Networking and Infrastructure!

Developed in collaboration with leading employers and businesses, this two-year programme has been designed to reflect the needs of the digital sector and the role of a Digital Infrastructure Technician.

Our programme offers a comprehensive blend of theory, technical concepts and principles, relevant to the skills needed in roles such as a digital application technician, infrastructure technician, or IT support roles.

Combined with an industry placement that will prepare you for the workplace or higher-level study.

During the programme, you'll dive into the infrastructure support needs of a range of businesses, and gain an understanding of data storage and access levels.

You'll enhance your computational thinking skills, and explore digital environments that are critical to the role of a Digital Infrastructure Technician.

Our programme will also cover legislation that is relevant to the role of a digital support technician, including security issues and how they can be overcome.

You'll learn how to test system vulnerabilities and ensure that digital infrastructures are secure.

Assessment

The core content is assessed through two examinations and an employer set project.

The occupational specialism is assessed through a project that is created in conjunction with digital employers.

Work Experience & Employer Partners

As the course is a T Level, you’ll undertake an industry placement of at least 45 day putting into practice what you’ve learnt in the classroom.

You could progress into roles such as an Infrastructure Technician Apprentice earning up to £15,000 per annum or a Server Infrastructure Technician with the potential to earn up to £40,000.

Northumbria University - Offers a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science with Software Engineering, with a focus on practical software development and problem-solving.
University of Sunderland - Offers a BSc (Hons) in Computing (Software Engineering), with a focus on software development, programming languages, and databases.

Alternatively you could progress onto an apprenticeship:

Level 3 Software Development Technician - This apprenticeship standard is ideal for individuals who wish to start a career in software engineering. It covers topics such as programming, software development, testing, and deployment.
Level 4 Software Developer - This apprenticeship standard is suitable for individuals who have some experience in software development and wish to advance their career. It covers topics such as advanced programming, software design, testing, and deployment.
Level 4 Software Tester - This apprenticeship standard is specifically designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in software testing. It covers topics such as test planning, test execution, defect management, and test automation.
Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional (Software Engineering) - This apprenticeship standard is suitable for individuals who wish to develop their expertise in software engineering and related technologies. It covers topics such as software development, project management, and leadership.

Finance and funding

This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.

Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
