The T Level qualification is an exciting brand new two year full time course which has been designed in partnership with businesses and employers that is aimed to give you the knowledge and skills to support you move into an exciting career in healthcare which is the UK’s largest employment sector.

We are committed to ensuring you are ahead of the jobs market when you leave us and we will provide the knowledge and skills needed to work in the health sector through a minimum of 45 days industry placement.

You will undertake a high quality, structured and outcomes-focused industry placements which is an integral part of the new T Level programme.

The industry placement will be aligned to your career aspirations identified in your career plan which will be a minimum of 45 days and could include up to two employers.

You’ll be given a clear role descriptions in advance of the placement and you’ll also undertake an interview prior to starting your placement.

Your placement will provide you with an opportunity to contribute to the organisation and develop a host of new skills to help you take your next step.

During the theory and knowledge element of your course, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of subjects relevant to healthcare.

You will learn and develop your skills by using a range of exciting and innovative teaching and learning methods including projects, presentations, displays and innovative use of VR bringing your curriculum experience alive.

Assessment

You’ll be assessed in the following ways:

  • Written examination which is externally marked
  • Employer set project which is externally marked
  • Occupational assessments
  • A range of assessments that highlight the knowledge and skills you’ve learnt into practical assignments.

You’ll need to purchase the following kit;

  • A uniform to wear in placement
  • Sensible shoes and black trousers for placement
  • At least one course textbook and a range of stationary.

We can support you to decide on your next steps which could be a Higher Level Apprenticeship, university where you might study nursing, social work, psychology, criminology or even education.

On the other hand you might want to go straight out into the world of work.

Whichever route you choose, our teachers and dedicated Careers Team will provide one to one support to help you to make a decision that’s tailored to your skills and is best for you.

Five GCSE grades at 5 or above, including English Language and maths.

You’ll will also need to pass a DBS check before you go on placement and take part in interview with a member of our teaching team.

You’ll be taught by a team of committed and enthusiastic teachers, so there will always be someone to support you.

They all maintain their industry knowledge and skills by returning to practice at least once a year. 

This course includes a 45 day industry placement – this is the main aspect that sets this course apart from study programmes.

In the first year you will get an introduction to the sector through undertaking substantial work experience with some of our partner employers such as Gateshead Council in a range of care settings.

This will support you to understand the key skills necessary to get ahead in the industry.
