Enter Player One! If you want to be part of the next generation of game developers, 3D modelers, concept artists, animators or all round gaming gurus, then level up your skill tree with our innovative games development course.
The UK games industry is worth £4.2billion and is growing at a rate of 10% a year, it directly employs over 20,000 people and is one of the most creative, challenging and dynamic career routes you can pursue.
Validated by the world renowned University of the Arts London (UAL), our game development course puts you in control of your own progress, choosing specialisms that suit you, push your potential and give you the confidence to work in this exciting industry. The beauty of the UAL qualifications are you are free to explore your potential, take creative risks and find the path that challenges and excites you.
Our highly experienced, friendly team work with you to level up your very own talent tree, skill up in 3D, digital and traditional graphics, game engines, VR, animation, story and narrative, audio production and get an intimate understanding of the creative design process that powers the industry.
“The best part of my job is seeing the students’ progress and develop. When the students produce their first playable game demo’s, I have such a proud teacher moment!” Heather Penten, Curriculum Leader.
You will get to work on live briefs for real companies, make real games, compete in Game Jams, win prizes, create a portfolio, interact with real game studios, meet friends for life and step onto the path that could lead you to your dream job.
With an investment of over £80,000 in the last few years, we have industry level kit, (we’re talking liquid cooled gaming rigs), industry standard software and our own VR lab.
Through the University Arts London (UAL) qualification you will build skills, competencies and confidence in the creative process. Learn how to reflect on your practice and unlock your creative potential. Assessment is formative, designed to help you be the best you can. Practical work, concept development, design and how you creatively problem solve will all be developed and you are only graded at the end of each year.
In year one this is the final major project, a body of work that shows your strengths and personal interests and based around where you excel. Reflecting your research, contextual design, presentation and, of course, your practical skills.
Top-up onto the extended diploma in year two and you will advance your skill set and professional qualities building towards the extended final major project, your chance to show how far you have come. Assessed on your professional portfolio of work, you will be ready to progress to university or the other exciting next steps in your creative career.
