This course is ideal if you want to further your hairdressing career.
Following on from our Level 1 qualification you will work on our paying customers and will demonstrate your ability and creativity within our industry standard onsite hairdressing salon, Botanica.
This course will give you the techncial and practical skills and knowledge needed to progress to further training or to get a job as a junior stylist.
You'll work on skills such as:
- Finishing and setting
- Plaiting and twisting
feedback to help you to improve where needed. Assessments will be carried out in our training salon, Botanica and you'll be marked against the standards of the awarding body.
Taylor London, Milkshake, Steiner Skincare and Spa, City Retreat, Hilton NewcastleGatesehead and The Arch. Working with these employers means you learn the most up to date techniques and we're able to source brilliant work experience opportunities.
You'll train in our industry standard salon, Botanica, complete with two hairdressing salons. You'll work as part of our professional salon team servicing paying clients.
You'll wear a uniform as part of the course and work with a professional hairdressing kit.
After the course you can progress to our Level 3 Hairdressing course or an apprenticeship.

This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free or reduced price course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 years over, you can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or pay the fee upfront in full and qualify for a 10% discount.
