This dynamic course is an ideal starting point for many careers in health and social care. It will give you a good foundation understanding of creative and therapeutic activities, safeguarding, duty of care, health and safety, promoting health and effective communication.
You'll learn from our team of experts in the classroom and have the
opportunity to put your theory into practice on work placements,
fundraising and volunteering opportunities.
On the course, you'll study:
We'll track your progress as you move through the course, giving you feedback
to help you to improve and build your confidence. We'll assess how well you're
doing through a combination of exams and assignments, with support all
along the way.
Your teaching team are passionate and enthusiatic, keen to help you learn and will support you from the start to the end of the course and beyond.
You'll take part in work experience with one of our employer partners where you'll be able to put what you've learnt into practice and further build your knowledge, understanding, confidence and skills.

After the course, you could go out into work or progress to an apprenticeship. If you have achieved at merit or distinction grade you may be able to progress onto the Level 3 course.
Three GCSE grades at 3-9, including English and preferably maths and science.
A DBS check will be needed before you can go on work placement which we will organise for you.
You'll need to buy a tunic for work placement which will cost around £22.50.
We can source this for you through our preferred suppliers and funding support is available for those who meet eligibility criteria.

This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
