We've teamed up with the experts at PROTO, the emerging technology centre in Gateshead, to offer this course that will help you to understand what it takes to start your own business.
At the end of the course you'll leave with:
- a professional business plan
- investor contacts
- a stronger network
- the confidence to put it all into action.
Over the duration of the course you'll learn what it takes to make a business start-up successful, how to market your ideas, the legal and financial considerations and how to develop a business plan. We'll host online learning as well as classroom sessions and you'll have access to the lounge area at PROTO to help build that all important network.
At the end of the course all students will be invited to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts, Dragons Den style. The winner will be provided with 6 months free deskspace in PROTO and access to a business mentor. The emphasis of this course is on practical learning, so there are no exams and progress assessment will be based on a portfolio of evidence gathered through the completion of assignments and practical activities.
