If you'd like to be a teacher but don't yet have the qualifications you need to study a degree, this programme could be for you.
This one year, intensive programme is designed to support you to get the qualifications you need to get into university to study at degree level.

The QAA Access to HE Diploma is awarded by Ascentis and recognised for entry to Higher Education courses across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
You will complete on-going assessments during your time with us. This will
include essays, reports, portfolios, case studies and other assessment types to
help you show your understanding of the topics covered on the
course.
Our teachers are ambitious, talented and passionate about making your
experience at college the very best it can be. They have up-to-date industry
experience to share with you and the energy and enthusiasm to help you to get
where you need to be.
Our teachers understand that returning to study as an adult can
be challenging and that you'll have lots of other priorities to juggle.
They pride themselves on offering lots of one-to-one support to help you do your
very best.
Many of our students progress to local and national universities to study degree programmes. To search university programmes and their entry requirements, you can use the UCAS website.
GCSE grades A * - C (9 - 4) in English, maths and a science subject. You must be over 18 years old to attend this course.

You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the course fees. This is a low interest loan with no upfront fees or payments, no credit checks and is paid back in instalments once you are earning a certain amount. More information can be found here. Once you have completed the Access to HE course, if you go onto complete a higher education degree course, the remaining balance of your Advanced Learner Loan, including any interest, will be ‘written off’, which means you won’t have to pay it back. If you do apply for an Advanced Learner Loan you may also be eligible for additional grants to help with costs associated with the course such as travel or childcare through the Advanced Learner Loans.
