Are you interested in or at the start of a career in Accounting or Finance?
The AAT Level 2 course is the introductory level qualification for those who are interested in pursuing a career in accounting or finance. It is an internationally recognized certification that is awarded by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
You will learn how to process financial transactions, produce financial statements, and manage budgets. You will also develop your communication and interpersonal skills, which are essential to be successful and grow your client base in the accounting profession.
This course is made up of four units plus a synoptic , which cover the following topics:
Each unit is designed to build upon the previous one, so you will gradually develop your accounting knowledge and skills throughout the course.
This course is available on a part-time basis, The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based teaching (currently 12-3, Tuesdays, every other week, face to face) and online learning, so you will have the flexibility to fit your studies around your other commitments.
Each unit is assessed through a computer-based exam, which is taken at an external assessment centre.
The exams are a mixture of multiple-choice and computer-based simulations, which will test your understanding of the subject matter and your ability to apply it in practical scenarios.

Upon successful completion of the Level 2 AAT course, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 AAT course, which will further develop your accounting knowledge and skills.
Alternatively, you may choose to seek employment in an accounting or finance role, as the Level 2 AAT qualification is recognised by employers across a wide range of industries. We also offer apprenticeships in this area.
There are no formal entry requirements for the Level 2 AAT course, but a keen interest in finance and accounting is essential. You will be required to complete an initial assessment before you enrol so we can determine your starting point.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free or reduced price course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
