Uniformed Public Services includes the Armed Forces, Police, Fire, Prison and Paramedics.
This course has been designed to help you build the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to progress successfully into a role in one of these services.
This course will also be beneficial for anyone thinking of a career in Public Services such as Government, Education and the NHS.

You will also study towards an English or maths GCSE alongside your the course with our expert English and maths teaching team, and you will take part in Personal and Social Development lessons with topics ranging from job applications to personal finance.
You will also the opportunity to undertake some more exciting trips and visits such as a survival expedition, walking up a mountain, land navigated walk, indoor rock climbing and orienteering.
There will also be lots of specialised guest speakers from various areas of uniformed and non uniformed public services.

They all offer outstanding, training, coaching and playing opportunities for everyone of all abilities.
If you do not wish to join one of our academies, you will undertake a work readiness workshop that is designed to develop further your employability skills and undetake volunteering opportunities.
Three GCSE grades at 3 or above or a Level 1 qualification as distinction grade.
You will primarily be assessed via written coursework and there will be some practically assessed tasks such as Land Navigation and Physical Fitness.
Everyone will undertake a 30 hour work placement or work readiness activities as part of our employment edge promise.
For most of you this will involve a week residential at an Army base camp but other opportunities are available

You can choose to progress to our Level 3 course to further your skills and knowledge, step into work or move onto an Apprenticeship. One of the biggest employment areas in our region, the services offer a variety of job roles and progression from entry level through to senior positions. A career in public services is exciting, fast-paced and interesting. Salaries start from around £15,000 and can rise to over £50,000 in senior positions.
Fast track to an apprenticeshipIf you’re interested in an apprenticeship but you can’t find the right vacancy or you want to do some studying first, no problem. You can start on a vocational study programme like this one, then once you’re ready and a vacancy becomes available, we’ll help you transfer on to an apprenticeship.
This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free or reduced price course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 years over, you can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or pay the fee upfront in full and qualify for a 10% discount.
