This is the course for you. Learn the principles of sports massage and become certified to practice.

There are two parts to this course, the Sports Massage Qualification and the Self-Employment Module to ensure you can set up your own business once qualified.

We have an onsite massage suite with 6 massage beds, towels and oils to use.
We will work to develop your skills through practice, running open sessions after sports academy sessions for recovery, and link you with effective work experience with Physiotherapists or sports massage companies

After this course, you will be a qualified Sports Massage practitioner.
You will receive advice and guidance on how to start your own business or join an existing business.
This could be a part-time or full-time venture depending on your interest.
Some level of maturity is needed to complete this course so we advise all applicants are aged 17 and over with at least one year on a level 3 course.
The Curriculum Leaders will also interview you for suitability for the course
This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free or reduced price course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 years over, you can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or pay the fee upfront in full and qualify for a 10% discount.

Knowledge
Psychology: Knowledge of human behaviour and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioural and affective disorders.
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Therapy and Counselling: Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counselling and guidance.
Medicine and Dentistry: Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
