Skills Bootcamp – Mic to Market Level 3


Calling all musicians! Are you a full band or want to be in a band?

Do you want to take your playing to the next level? If you are serious about your music then our Mic to Market course could be for you.

Our ten-week course will allow you to utilise our professional rehearsal and recording facilities with the view to recording and performing in a professional venue.

Our industry experts will work with you to enhance your performance skills and musicianship as well as introducing you to the world of recording music ready for release.
Your ambition on the course could lead you to distributing and releasing your music as well as promoting it through your own gig.

  • Replace or compliment those weekly rehearsals by utilising our professional resources and staff to take your artistry to the next level.

  • Financial Aspects of the Music Business

Next Steps
This course could lead you to distributing and releasing your music as well as promoting it through your own gig.

This is a level 3 course.

You will take part in an initial assessment in maths and English to assess you are working at the appropriate level.

You should be part of a band or a solo artist ready to launch your career in the music industry.

This course is free (fully funded) for independent learners (those not taking the course through their employer).

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Live in the North East Combined Authority area (Gateshead, Sunderland, South Tyneside, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland or County Durham)
  • Have the right to work in the UK and meets residency requirements

Employers using bootcamps to upskill their workforce will be required to pay a contribution (10% for SME and 30% for large employers).

Tuesday 13th January 2026. This Skills Bootcamp will run for 6 hours per week on a Tuesday and Thursday evening.
