Our teachers are ambitious, talented and passionate about making your experience at college the very best it can be.

They are members of Dynamo North East and have up to date industrial experience to share with you, and the energy and enthusiasm to help you to get where you need to be.

Software and AI Teacher, John, said: “Transitioning from industry to teaching has been incredibly rewarding. Sharing real-world skills with bootcamp students and seeing them advance in their careers is why I love what I do.”

Our Digital Technology curriculum is reviewed by a range of employers to ensure that you will develop the skills required to work in the industry.

These include:

  • Sage
  • Accenture
  • National Innovation Centre for Data

Previous graduates have gained employment with these organisations amongst others.

As our bootcamps are delivered via a blended approach we ensure that learners have access to industry standard software.

In addition, for in person sessions, our teaching rooms provide a realistic, practical learning environment.

If you are an independent learner, you will be guaranteed a job interview in industry.

This bootcamp will prepare you for a career as a Cloud Architect, DevOps Specialist, or Cloud Security Engineer, as well as other more general cyber related roles.

All applicants are invited to interview and take part in an initial assessment process to check your suitability for this bootcamp. If you are not successful in gaining a place on a Skills Bootcamp, we may recommend alternative provision.

In addition, all applicants are required to have the following:
GCSE English and Maths at grade 9-4 (A*-C), or equivalent.

We recommend that learners have at least a Level 3 qualification in an IT/Tech related subject, however, we welcome applications from people without this qualification and will consider your interview and initial assessment performance.

David Ingrouille, Web Development Manager at Sage, said: “The bootcamps have been a huge success and have given people a fantastic opportunity to embark on a career in digital, which otherwise may not have been possible. Working with Gateshead College, we’ve been able to identify brilliant local people who are professional and enthusiastic, with a positive can-do attitude, and whose values align with Sage’s. The programme has helped us jump-start these employees into technical roles by providing basic skills and knowledge at the bootcamps, which they’re now building on in real jobs.”

Jeff Ho, a Skills Bootcamp graduate, said: “The Skills Bootcamp in Digital was the best way for me to secure employment. I was disheartened about not being able to find a role in the region, but I found out about the programme and decided to give it a go. I’m very happy to have found success with Sage – it’s a great place to work and I’m enjoying my new role.”

Aneta Pawula, a Skills Bootcamp graduate, said: “I wasn’t sure if university was the right option for me so the option to complete a bootcamp was ideal for me. I found the bootcamp perfect for giving me that additional knowledge and the ability to go into the interview with confidence in my ability.”
