If you’re passionate about music and ready to take your first steps toward becoming a professional performer, this course is the perfect starting point. Designed to build your confidence, technical ability and industry knowledge.

Throughout the course, you’ll be supported by experienced tutors, skilled technicians and visiting industry professionals. You’ll develop your instrumental or vocal skills through weekly  lessons with expert music practitioners and participate in regular ensemble workshops that build your confidence as a performer.

As part of your musical journey, you’ll:

  • Study the basics of music theory to enhance your understanding of musical structure and composition.
  • Develop your songwriting, sequencing, and instrumental techniques through practical, hands-on sessions.
  • Learn about the music business and what it takes to succeed in today’s industry.
  • Rehearse and perform in our fully equipped theatre and a range of local professional venues, gaining valuable live performance experience throughout the year.

You’ll also benefit from industry-focused workshops and seminars with local music organisations, helping you understand the wider music landscape and how to build your future career.

Required Entry Qualifications

The standard entry requirements for this course are as follows:

3 GCSE grade 4 or above (grade A*-C), including English and Maths

Applicants who do not meet all the course entry requirements, may still be considered. If you are not able to continue with your application to this course, an alternative course will be explored and further advice and guidance offered.

This course will give you the real-world experience and foundational knowledge to progress onto the UAL Level 3 Music Performance course, where you can further specialise and refine your skills for a future in the music industry.
