Do you want to be part of a growing industry of beauty therapists? With motivation and dedication the sky’s the limit!

Our highly trained and experienced team, work with you in all aspects of your training which include facial, manicure and pedicure.

During your study you will explore a range of skills and learn new techniques to give you the foundations to prepare you to go onto further learning within the beauty industry.

Our vocational programme supports the current working practices within the beauty industry.

We focus not only on building your practical skills but also you knowledge of the industry, how to work effectively both individually and as part of a team and to build your confidence in preparation for your progression onto the next level.

You’ll study the following:

  • Introduction to the Hair & Beauty Sector
  • Presenting a professional image in a salon
  • Manicure treatments
  • Pedicure treatments
  • Facial skin care

Assessment

You will be continually and formally assessed during this course.

Theory assessments will be carried out via assignments and formal testing and practical assessments will be carried out in our on site salon, Botanica.

All assessments will be measured against the nationally recognised standards of the awarding body, City and Guilds.

You may also be asked to carry out case studies and research work at home.

Our highly professional and experience salon teaching team will help and support you every step of the way.

With industry experience under their belts to ensure your learning experience is packed full of the latest trends and techniques, the team adapt their teaching style to suit each student, making your time with us as personal and enjoyable as possible.

We work with a wide range of companies such as Eve Taylor to ensure you are working with professional product companies to enhance your experience.

We work hard to make fantastic partnerships with employers to give you experience of the world of work as this is an essential part of the course.

All practical sessions will take place in our commercial, industry standard salon Botanica which is equipped with customer reception, two beauty salons, dedicated barbering and make-up space, nail bars and hair salons.

PPE is provided along with the tools and products required.

Progression onto level 2 beauty therapy or hair and media makeup courses.

  • We’re a part of the Green Salon Collective, a company that offer Zero-to-Landfill Salon Recycling Solutions for Hairdressers.
  • Our hair, foils and metal tubes are recycled.
  • We use eco-heads, shower heads that reduce water use by around 70%.
  • Our beauty supplier is Eve Taylor and for every product we buy, they plant a tree.
  • We don’t print our learning portfolios, they’re all online.
  • We use the Wella Hero platform, which helps the students gain knowledge on all aspects education in the hair industry including sustainable salon operations.

The standard entry requirements for this course are as follows:

  • 2 GCSE grade 1-3 or equivalent.
  • ESOL L1 required for non-UK residents.
  • An interview is also required with a member of the beauty team.

If not able to continue with their application to this course, an alternative course will be explored and further advice and guidance offered.

Course starts on Tuesday 7th January 2025 for 15 weeks from 5.30pm to 8.30pm
