If you’re thinking about starting a career in engineering, or want to develop your current career, then this HTQ Civil Engineering course is ideal for you.

Our Higher Technical Qualifications or HTQs are co-designed with employers to meet the evolving demands of needed to succeed in industry. So, you not only get the knowledge you need to apply, or progress, but also the practical expertise employers want in only 12 months.

The course aims to:

  • Offer you a offers you a broad introduction to the subject area via a mandatory core of learning.
  • Build underpinning core skills, with general specialisation; preparing you for further specialisation at Level 5.
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences to develop industry-required skills.

The qualification is aligned and meets the requirements with the following professional bodies:

  • Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
  • Institution of Structural Engineers (iStructE)
  • Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
  • Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT)

Upon successful completion you will be able to progress into employment in the construction industry, apply for a promotion or continue HE study and progress to the Level 5 HND, and onto a relevant engineering degree programme, such as BSc Civil Engineering or BA/BSc Structural Engineering
