Our Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Digital Technologies, specialising in Cyber Security & Cloud Networking is paving the way for aspiring professionals like yourself.

In our HTQ-accredited HNC program, we blend foundational digital principles with specialised units in Cyber Security, Programming, and Networking in the Cloud.

This isn’t about theoretical learning; it’s about practical, hands-on experience that directly aligns with what employers are seeking.

This qualification is preparing you for the challenges of the real-world digital landscape we have created this curriculum with our partners at Cyber North to ensure this exactly what you get.

We work with our partners to ensure that the modules are specifically tailored to the digital industry and there is clear progression to the world of work, apprenticeships or an HND course.

This programme is a Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) which could lead you directly into employment or onto the second year of study, on the Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND).

Assessment

Your assignments will be written in collaboration with our employers.

They will look to base these around skills needed in the industry.

All assessment will be project based.

This might include written assignments, practical tasks and presentations.

There will be no exams in these units.

The rooms are each fitted with around 20 PC’s and include a range of active network equipment, including patch panels, switches and routers in industry standard racks.

The rooms provide a realistic, practical learning environment for networking configuration and trouble-shooting including lab exercises, firmware patching, cyber security defence and any other hardware related topics.

You can also deploy and access cloud services, existing data repositories for analysis and create back end infrastructure for data led curriculums.

We are always looking to improve our hardware and software to keep rooms and equipment in line with industry standards.

At the end of the year, you can progress into employment or continue your studies and complete a Level 5 HND.

Requirements for the course are Merit at UAL or MMM at BTEC L3.

If you have not achieved these grades your applications are still welcome but will be subject to an interview and portfolio check.

GCSE English and Maths at grade 9-4 (A*-C).

We welcome applications from mature students without these qualifications but with relevant experience.

An interview is required.

Your tutors have many years of teaching experience across the FE and HE sector.

They also have a background of working in the industry in Data or cyber security.

We are constantly looking to upskill our staff, ensuring currency of delivery and giving you the best possible experience.

Links with local businesses in the digital sector, including Cyber North, mean we can adapt to changes in the industry and access professionals for their experience and advice.

This might include work experience opportunities, guest speakers or visits to digital conferences.
