Build confidence, develop your creative and technical skills, and take your first step into the games industry. This one year part-time course is designed for adult learners, whether you’re returning to study, changing careers or exploring an interest in games design and development.
Delivered two days per week, this flexible course introduces you to the core skills used in games creation. You’ll explore how games are designed and developed, create your own digital assets, and begin working with industry tools and concepts. You’ll also learn about game mechanics, player experience, and how digital technologies are used within the games industry.
Alongside your technical learning, you’ll build confidence in communication, teamwork, and employability, including identifying opportunities and creating a strong CV.
This course provides a clear and supportive pathway into further study, including Level 3 games development or digital courses within the department, or into entry-level creative and digital roles.

The rooms are each fitted with around 20 PC’s and include a range of active network equipment, including patch panels, switches and routers in industry standard racks.
We are always looking to improve our hardware and software to keep rooms and equipment in line with industry standards.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances. If you don’t qualify for funding help and have to pay for course, you could pay a 25% deposit and four consecutive monthly standing order payments for the balance.
