Are you interested in the Digital Technology sector as a potential career choice?

Our course is packed with exciting projects that will develop your skills in a range of digital technologies.

From digital animation and website design to computer programming, you’ll gain a broad understanding of the industry and its range of opportunities.

You will develop a digital product from start to finish, using industry-standard software.

You’ll also learn how to design and create a website, which is a important tool for any business in the digital age.

Finally, you’ll get hands-on experience in writing computer programs, which is an essential skill in the tech industry.

Our course is more than just a qualification.

We’ll help you develop key skills that will make you more employable and give you an edge in the job market.

You’ll also have the opportunity to engage with local businesses and improve your skills through work experience and other activities designed to boost your CV.

The possibilities with this course are endless, students have been given real-life projects to work on, visited the employers at work and been given opportunities to showcase their work.

This scheme, along with our tutorial programme will help you become work ready as well as preparing you for the outside world with training on money management, help with job hunting, interviews and confidence building.

We want you to be job ready when you leave us and able to put what you have learnt into practice in the workplace.

Relevant and high quality work experience placements, employer mentoring, commercial and vocational projects will help you to do this and are an important part of your study programme. Make an impression on an employer and who knows where that could lead! 

You can start on this programme and fast track to an apprenticeship once a vacancy becomes available and you’re ready.

2 GCSEs at a minimum of grades 1-2.

An interview is required.

We welcome applicants without prior experience.

This course is free to those aged under 19 years old.

Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.

  • IT User Support Technicians
  • IT Operations Technicians

Knowledge

Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Telecommunications: Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
