If you have answered yes to these three questions then this course is right for you!
This qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the electrotechnical sector.
You will cover compulsory aspects such as:
Centres and providers work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training.
Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the employers.
This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the electrotechnical industry or specialist further study.
You will need level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation.
Maths and English GCSE passes at grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2.
You need to have completed a Level 2 electrical course or have industry experience at this level or above.
Use of basic tools and some hand skills would be useful.
A place is not guaranteed with the above achievements, consideration is given to previous attendance/behaviours and number of attempts to pass the L2 units.
You must successfully complete all the mandatory assessment components.
In addition, you must achieve the mandatory employer involvement requirement (Level 3 Employer involvement 830) for this qualification before you can be awarded a qualification grade.
You will be taught by highly experienced members of our electrical team who have years of experience in both teaching and electrical installation.
All assessments are carried out in accordance with City & Guilds assessment strategy.

In addition to helping find work experience our Business Support Officer arranges site visits, employer talks, recruitment events and other work-related activities.
This is a key part of all electrical qualifications, that can also lead to more employment opportunities.
Our Skills Academy for Construction is a purpose-built centre with dedicated workshop space for each Construction trade.
You will be required to provide suitable clothing for workshops and steel toe-capped boots.
A current standard copy of IET wiring regs and onsite guide is required, along with basic stationary and a scientific calculator
This technical qualification focuses on the development of knowledge and practical skills needed for working in the electrotechnical industry, which will prepare you to enter an electrotechnical apprenticeship programme or work as an electrician’s mate working towards completion of a NVQ and the AM2 test.
Then you will be recognised by the industry as competent as an installation or maintenance electrician.
