Here’s what you’ll learn in our advanced hairdressing programme:
A Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, pass a skills test and an interview with our team.
You will be continually and formally assessed throughout this course to make sure you are developing the skills you need to be successful.
Theory assessments will be carried out via assignments and formal testing and practical assessments will be carried out in our commercial salon Botanica, on paying clients or fellow students.
All assessments will be measured against the nationally recognised standards of the awarding body. You may also be asked to carry out case studies and research work at home.
This course is delivered by our friendly, highly skilled and experienced staff.
Their teaching styles are adpated to suit your needs, making your learning experience personal and as enjoyable as possible.
Guest speakers from professional salons and brands are regular visitors to Botanica, to ensure the course content is up to date with emerging trends and techniques.
Our brilliant links with professional salons allow us to source you extra training with our partners to help you kick start your career.
All practical sessions are taught in our commercial salon, Botanica, which is equipped with two hair salons, a beauty suite, nail bar, barbering facility and make-up room, similar to any top end high street salon.
It is open to the public meaning you’ll work alongside our professional team to cut and style paying clients.
You’ll be invited to buy a salon uniform which must be worn at all times.

On completion of this course, you will be a fully qualified Hairdresser ready to step into industry.
You will need to buy a uniform to wear on this course.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in bespoke training with brands such as Wella and Milk Shake, which may cost extra.
Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.
If you don’t qualify for funding help and have to pay for course, you could pay a 25% deposit and four consecutive monthly standing order payments for the balance. The course fee must be over £100 to qualify.
