Who’s the course for?
Beauty professionals looking to enhance their knowledge and offer comprehensive skincare solutions to their clients. Individuals interested in mastering advanced skincare techniques and staying ahead of industry trends in the beauty and wellness sector.

  • Management of health, safety and security in the salon
  • Advanced epilation techniques
  • Apply micro dermabrasion
  • Laser and light treatments for hair removal
  • Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvination
  • Quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector
  • Physiology of ageing
  • Provide electrical epilation

 

Required Entry Qualifications

Level 3 beauty qualification, including facial electrotherapy treatments.

We will check in with you throughout the course to ensure you are developing the skills and knowledge you need to confidently pass this course.

Your theoretical knowledge will be tested through written assignments and formal testing and your practical knowledge will be assessed through working in Botanica, our commercial salon, on fellow students and paying clients.

You may also be asked to carry out case study work or research at home. All assessments will against the City and Guilds awarding body standards.

  • Our beauty supplier is Eve Taylor and for every product we buy, they plant a tree.
  • We don’t print our learning portfolios, they’re all online.
  • We use the Wella Hero platform, which helps the students gain knowledge on all aspects education in the hair industry including sustainable salon operations.

We work with a wide range of beauty professional companies such as Eve Taylor, Dermalux, to give you the product knowledge and skills requested by employers in the industry.

Wednesday 2nd September 2026. This 20-week programme runs every Wednesday from 9:30am to 6:00pm.

All practical sessions will be taught in our commercial hair, beauty and barbering salon, Botanica working with paying clients as well as practising on other students.

The salon is equipped with industry standard kit and modelled on any professional salon you’d find on the high street.

Most people aged 19 years and over can qualify for free course fees and there are grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.

If you don’t qualify for funding help and have to pay for course, you could pay a 25% deposit and four consecutive monthly standing order payments for the balance. The course fee must be over £100 to qualify.

If this is a Level 3 qualification and you may qualify for free course fees and there may be grants and bursaries you can apply for to help cover the costs of coming to college, depending on your circumstances.

If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 or over you can pay the fee in full upfront and receive a 10% discount. Or you can apply for an Adult Advanced Learner Loan, a low interest loan with no upfront fees that you pay back in installments once you’re earning.

Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Chemistry: Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
