What you will do in your working day

  • Able to identify individual component parts using drawings provided.
  • Assemble parts in correct sequence using jigs and tooling.
  • Complete quality checks of all assemblies.
  • Able to work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Able to work as part of a team and after initial training able to work under supervision & then able to work alone & meet safety and quality expectations.
The job role is to work with experienced staff learning all aspects of the role of a fabricator / welder, this will include tasks such as identifying the correct parts using drawings, how to use jigs to assemble parts to correct quality standards, working to excellent safety standards.

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards the Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship standard with Gateshead College.
