What you will do in your working day

  • Learn to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate techniques.
  • Forming/cutting various metallic materials.
  • Interpret technical drawings, templates and instructions for each job.
  • Gain and develop practical skills in the use of general hand/precision tools, welding techniques and equipment and measuring equipment.
  • Operating and handling machinery and equipment on shop floor.
  • Learn technical skills in inspection and quality.
  • Contributing to maintaining the quality of work we manufacture and deliver.
We’re looking for enthusiastic apprentices interested in a career in Fabrication and Welding. This hands-on role offers valuable experience in manufacturing, working alongside skilled professionals. You’ll receive one-on-one mentorship from a time-served senior fabricator with the end goal to create a career in the field.

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards the Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship standard with Gateshead College.
