Financial help
Gateshead College can give you advice on the grants available to
you to help you come to College, so money isn't such a worry when
you come to study.
Below is an overview of some of the help that is available. You

Bursaries
If you're aged 16-18 you could qualify for a Gateshead
College Bursary. These bursaries provide financial support to help
you with meals, transport, equipment or other course related
costs.
The bursary awards grants of up to £1200 depending on personal
circumstances. Information will be available throughout the year so
follow us on Twitter or Facebook for updates.

Gateshead College Foundation
We have set up a dedicated charity to help more people be
able to afford to study and come to our College. The Foundation
funds are offered in addition to the Bursaries and Grants that are
provided by the Government, so it's another reason to choose to
study with us.
You can apply to the Foundation to help with;
- Travel costs
- Course resources or equipment
- Trips or visits associated with your course

Army Bursary Scheme
Thinking of joining the Army? You could get paid £2000 to
go to college and get a job at the end of it. As well as studying
for your qualification, you'll benefit from work experience with
the Army.
Subjects include administration, construction, business
management, engineering, health and social care, hospitality and
catering, ICT, media and communication, music, public services,

Fees and grants for HE courses
If you are a full-time student, you may qualify
for a loan for your fees, a loan for living costs and possibly
other income assessed grants or allowances depending on your
circumstances.
For part-time students in 2012 you can apply
for a loan for your fees.
All eligible students can apply for Disabled Students Allowance
if you need additional support because of a disability or a
specific learning difficulty.
