We’ve teamed up with SSP to run a specialist hospitality academy; a free training programme to help you to build the skills and knowledge they’re looking for with a guaranteed interview at the end.

About the job roles
SSP are recruiting for a range of full and part time roles in the food outlets that they manage at Newcastle International Airport including Burger King, Flying Hippo, Beerhouse, Uppercrust, Ritazza, Pita & Brew, Cabin and Bar 11.

About the training
Days: Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm
Start date: Monday 5th March
Venue: Gateshead College, Baltic Campus, Quarryfield Road, Gateshead NE8 3BE
This free, short training course will help you gain the knowledge, skills and experience SSP are looking for, putting you in a perfect position to be successful at interview. The course will cover:
- How to present yourself at interview and answer questions well
- Communication skills
- Working with others and as part of a team
- One to one support
- Practice interviews
- Tours of food venues
- Job hunting and application support
- Knowledge & practical hospitality skills
- Health & safety, food safety & basic food preparation
You’ll come away with the following nationally recognised qualifications:
Level 1 Award in Health & Safety Awareness
Level 1 Certificate in Occupational Studies for the Hospitality Workplace
Level 1 Employability Skills
Free, thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.
