Qualification Guide
If you're leaving school there are lots of options available to you depending on whether you want to study on an academic or vocational qualification:
Academic qualifications: You'll be used to these qualifications from school, they include GCSEs, and A levels and are mainly classroom based to give you the theoretical knowledge to go on to employment or higher education.
Vocational Qualifications: These qualifications are work based meaning they are much more hands on and involve learning the skills needed to do a job effectively. Qualifications in this area include NVQs, and National Certificates/Diplomas. You may also wish to consider the new Diploma - we're one of the first colleges to offer the new Engineering Diploma, and Society, Health and Development Diploma. You can find out more about Diplomas at the official government website.
Apprenticeships: An Apprenticeship is a great way to earn while you learn. You'll work for an employer and come to college one day per week to gain qualifications and learn the skills you need to do the job. Find out more in our Apprenticeships section.
Which ever route you choose to study we'll give you all the skills and knowledge you need to find employment in your chosen career, or progress on to university.
