A former Gateshead College student has made the headlines for her scarily good make over creations.
Former media student and make-up artist Ellen Ruth Wilson will be in high demand this evening as ghosts and ghouls venture out onto the streets of Gateshead to mark All Hallows’ Eve.
The 20-year-old works behind the counter at The French Oven Bakery in Newcastle’s Grainger Market by day, but she is hoping her scary skills will land her a job in special effects.
Ellen, of Deckham, Gateshead, said: “I’m a huge film fan and I use some of my favourite movies for inspiration.
“I would love to get involved in special effects,” she said. “Let’s face it, everyone loves a bit of gore.
“I usually use my own face to test out my ideas. Once I answered the door to the postman and made him scream.
“And there’s been a few times when I was in full make-up at college and didn’t have time to take it off, so ended up on the bus looking like I only had one eye.”
