The exciting new roles will play a key role within the Service, transporting patients to and from routine hospital appointments and hospital admissions and providing excellent customer service.
The apprenticeship programme will last up to 12 months and on the job training will be provided to ensure that the recruits gain key skills and knowledge to help them progress their career.
The Service is looking for applicants who are hard-working, have the ability to cope well under pressure and are able to use their own initiative. Candidates must also have a full UK driving license, held for a minimum of 6 months with a maximum of 3 points, as they will be given support to obtain a C1 driving license.
The apprenticeship programme will be delivered in partnership with Gateshead College, meaning the new recruits will spend one day at college completing their technical certificate, supported by any key English and maths skills they may require.
The whole programme will lead to them achieving a full Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Customer Service.
