Susan Mulholland, Deputy Director of Participation at Northern Stage said: “We are fully committed to providing young people with the skills, information and experience necessary to prepare them for a career in the arts. As well as nurturing young artists we actively encourage young people to explore the 40 plus roles within the theatre which are not connected to acting or directing. Apprenticeships are a vital part of this and provide a well-supported and exciting first step into the industry.”
Strong Voices and partners are targeting this opportunity towards young people who statistically, do not usually apply for a Creative Apprentice; young people with special needs, those who are not in education employment and training and young people who are looked after/leaving care. Working together, these organisations are committed to providing an enriching apprenticeship opportunity and ensuring that the right support is in place for each young people
