Kari Owers, winner of last year’s Susan Dobson Award for Entrepreneurship, will be speaking at the launch event, along with Nickie Gott, Chair of WIN and founder of events management company She’s Gott It!
Nickie said: “The annual WIN Awards are hugely important in celebrating the region’s inspirational female success stories. We want to encourage as many North East entrepreneurs as possible to attend the launch event at Gateshead College and take the opportunity to achieve the recognition they deserve we have some exciting plans moving forward that will further support the North East’s growing female entrepreneur circle.”
Gateshead College’s involvement in the awards is the latest initiative as it moves towards becoming one of a new generation of colleges* that are using entrepreneurial principles. These will drive educational reform, aiming to give students a more enterprising mindset and the skills, aptitude and enthusiasm needed to succeed in today’s workplace.
Judith Doyle, deputy principal at Gateshead College, said: “We’re delighted to be involved with these awards.
“Gateshead College is pushing forward with its plans to change the way entrepreneurial talent is nurtured, supported and shaped in the region. So the opportunity to partner an event such as this is fantastic, fitting in well with achieving our ambition to become a leading Gazelle College.”
