The hard work and success of the students who received A* - E grades saw the college achieve an overall 97 percent pass rate for the second successive year.
The students shone with grades which were once again above the national average success rate.
A record 15 subjects achieved 100 percent pass rates, beating the previous record of 14 from 2012. At AS Level, nine subjects achieved a 100 per cent pass rate compared with four last year.
Many will now be going onto degree studies at universities across the country or pursuing vocational qualifications.
Tim Poolan, strategy manager for curriculum at Gateshead College, was among the first to applaud the students on their success.
He said: “I’m so very proud of all the hard work the students have put in which, together with the dedication and quality of the teaching we provide, has enabled us to achieve such a fabulous set of results once again.
“Our students have done fantastically well and their grades are a result of the commitment they have shown to their studies over the past two years.
“However, any students concerned about getting a place at university or who is worried about what to do next have plenty of options available. Traditionally A Levels have created a route to university but students may opt to move on to vocational study including apprenticeships. Alternatively, they could choose to study higher education at college.”
