Ofsted Report 2009

We're officially 'outstanding' according to our latest Ofsted report, which puts us in the top 20 colleges in the country.

Inspectors awarded us grade 1 ratings in all six areas of the inspection - the best possible result.

Highlights of the report include:

• Our four campuses, which have seen £60million pounds of investment, were judged as ‘fantastic' and learning resources as ‘excellent'.
• Outstanding achievement - our success rates are in the top 10% in the country
• Outstanding responsiveness to employers - there are excellent opportunities for businesses to engage in high quality training.
• The College works exceptionally well with major employers.
• Partnerships to engage hard to reach learners were praised, especially with young people at risk of dropping out of education, training or employment.
• Excellent teaching and learning - the college is a national exemplar of good practice for teaching and the use of innovative learning resources.
• The College makes a major contribution to Gateshead's economic and social regeneration.
• Exemplary strategic partnerships including those with Gateshead Council, The Sage Gateshead and Dance City. These partnerships work to provide exceptional opportunities for all learners.
• Curriculum offer outstanding - wide range of courses with excellent progression routes
• Outstanding support, advice and guidance for learners.
• The College's financial position is strong and provides outstanding value for money.
