Student Awards

Student Awards

Each year at our annual Student Awards ceremony we recognise the hard work, dedication and determination of our students.

Our staff are asked to nominate students who they feel deserve recognition for their achievements- whether that's scoring particularly high marks, overcoming barriers to learning or simply being a positive influence on classmates - and we choose the very best and reward them at our glitzy evening.

Hosted by Galaxy FM breakfast show hosts Steve and Karen, as well as key members of college staff, the show is supported by music from our range of music and music technology courses.  This year our ceremony was held at the Sage Gateshead with students from a whole range of courses - from entry level right up to degrees - receiving awards for their hard work.

As well as our main Student Awards ceremony many of our college departments hold awards ceremony for their particular areas, which is an opportunity to recognise the work of individuals within that subject area.

Of course it's not just the college who recognises the success of our students - Gareth Moor was named Advanced Apprentice of the Year in the Learning and Skills Council National Apprenticeship Awards 2007, and Ian Hunter was awarded the Evening Chronicle Young Achiever of the Year Award 2007.
