This is the progression course for people who have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology or for applicants with a previous qualification at the same level in a suitably related area, and wishes to either seek work as an electrician, or work in the wider electrical engineering or installation field.

This is a nationally recognised qualification for the building services industry, along with a level 3 NVQ and AM2 you will gain the status as "Electrician".

Units you will study include:

  •       principles of environmental technology
  •       principles of electrical science
  •       electrical fault diagnosis
  •       inspection, testing and commissioning
  •       electrical system design

This course is assessed through a range of methods, on-line, written papers and practical tests.

An interview is required and guidance is required.

The cost of this course varies depending on your age and circumstances.

If you are under 19 years old, this course is free.

If you are aged over 19 years old you may qualify for free or reduced price course fees, depending on your circumstances.

If you already have a full level 3 qualification and are aged 19 years over, you can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or pay the fee upfront in full and qualify for a 10% discount.
