This course is an introduction to creative photography and digital manipulation and you will receive a solid foundation in the technical skills used by industry professionals. You will be taught by experienced tutors using industry standard software and equipment.
All students on the course are offered the opportunity to work with industry and take on commercial commission work.
The course includes practical, theory and contextual work. You will be encouraged to take a broad view of photography and include elements of a range of art and design disciplines. The course includes projects that will take place in industry, giving you links with businesses and designed to develop your abilities and real-world skills. These projects will also involve research, taught classroom and workshop sessions and self-reflection. Feedback will be given at all stages of your development.
On completion of this course you could progress onto a range of further or higher education programmes. There are also career opportunities across the digital sector around image handling, processing and manipulation, as well as the potential of becoming a free-lance or self-employed photographer.
The course also acts as a pathway into Higher Education with the Extended Diploma being equivalent to three A levels. You can achieve up to 168 UCAS points on completion of this course.
