Course overview
A Levels are the most popular means of entry to university for 16-18 year olds. If you are 19+, A Levels are still available to you BUT you may want to find out more about HEFCs.
The first year of A Levels is called AS. Our students typically study four of these and take three through to the second A2 year.
We offer:
- AS Levels in a wide range of subjects.
- Fantastic support whilst you study - you'll have your own personal tutor.
- Support and practical advice to guide you through the UCAS applications process.
- Outstanding, world class facilities and resources.
AS Levels demand more individual, in-depth study than GCSEs and place greater emphasis on independent study skills. All of our students complete an AS Extended Project. This extra qualification involves choosing and researching a topic that is relevant to your future career. You can complete a research project, a written essay or a performance piece. It is highly regarded by universities, attracts UCAS points and helps you explore a particular topic in greater depth.
It's a good idea to:
- choose subjects you will enjoy
- choose subjects you'll be good at
- check your combination of subjects
- make sure the subjects what you need for your chosen degree or career.
We're here to help you make your choice. We have friendly staff who are experts in this area and can give you informed and up to date advice. Come to one of our open events or call to make an appointment on 0191 490 2246.
